OPPO has announced an official price adjustment for two of its entry-level devices. The A38 and A18, which were released in Malaysia late last year, are getting up to RM50 off of their initial retail prices, making the budget smartphones even more affordable.
The A38 is getting both a price cut and a new configuration. It was launched at RM599 for 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but the new variant being sold comes with 6GB of RAM and a price tag of only RM549. Meanwhile, the A18 was offered at RM499 at launch, but now retails at just RM459.
In case you don’t remember, here are the specs of the two phones. The A38 has 6.56-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 720 nits, along with an IP54 dust and water resistance rating. It runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W charging. For photography, it packs a 50MP main camera and a depth sensor.
On the other hand, the A18 sports the same 6.56-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and an IP54 rating. It also runs on a Helio G85 processor with a 5,000mAh battery, but the charging speed has not been disclosed. Imaging-wise, it features an 8MP primary lens and a depth sensor.
