vivo has officially unveiled the Y38, its latest entry-level smartphone. It was launched in Taiwan and bears some resemblance to the Y200i that was released last month in China. The phone offers a big battery and a Qualcomm chipset along with a relatively bright screen.
It gets a 6.68-inch 720p LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Under the chassis lies a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor paired with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. For protection, it comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
On the imaging side, it has a simple setup with a 50MP main camera, a 2MP depth sensor, a ring light LED, and an 8MP selfie shooter. Powering the device is a large 6,000mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging. In terms of connectivity, the budget phone supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC.
The phone comes in blue and green colour options in a single configuration, but the brand has not yet revealed the pricing. As for Malaysian availability, we do not know when it will arrive here, but we can expect it to come soon as it has already been certified by SIRIM.
