Tesla has officially deployed its first V4 Supercharger stations in Southeast Asia, which are located at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya and IOI Mall Puchong. A total of eight V4 Superchargers have been introduced at these locations, in addition to two Destination chargers.
The Superchargers at IOI City Mall and IOI Mall Puchong, like those at other Tesla sites in Malaysia, have a charging rate of RM1.25 per kWh. Similarly, if the station is fully occupied and the vehicle remains parked after charging, an idle fee of up to RM4.00 will be applied. Meanwhile, Tesla notes that the Destination chargers are currently free to use until further notice.
The latest V4 Superchargers are claimed to offer DC charging rates of 250kW. Tesla boasts that these stations are capable of providing its Model 3 Long Range up to 282km worth of power in just 15 minutes.
Unlike the existing V3 Superchargers found in other areas, the new V4 version is equipped with a longer cable, facilitating easy access for all of the company’s electric vehicles. One advantage of the brand’s Supercharger network is its “Plug and Charge” experience, where users can view availability, navigate to, and monitor charge status of charging stations through the Tesla app.
