The realme 12x 5G has officially landed in Malaysia. It is an entry-level model from the realme 12 series, and is touted by the brand to be its most affordable 5G smartphone to date.
The newly launched device from realme sports a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 625 nits. It is also equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and dynamic button combo, an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, NFC capability, and Android 14 via realme UI 5.0.
Under the hood, the realme 12x 5G packs a MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset, 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of internal storage, and up to 2TB external memory support via microSD. Meanwhile, powering it is a 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging speed via USB-C.
As for imaging, featured on the back of the phone is a dual camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary and a 2MP depth sensor. In front, housed within the punch-hole cutout on its display is an 8MP selfie camera.
The realme 12x 5G is offered in Feather Green and Glowing Black colourways. Available in two memory configurations, the 8GB + 128GB is priced at RM899 while the 8GB + 256GB trim is at RM1,099.
The brand notes that the phone will only be offered first via CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, Yes and redONE starting tomorrow on 3 May 2024. Retail availability will come much later, with pre-orders opening from 5 May onwards via realme’s official online stores on Shopee, Lazada and Tiktok.
