Xiaomi has released an updated version of last year’s Redmi 13C with 5G support. The new Redmi 13C 5G comes with largely similar specs to its 4G counterpart but is equipped with a more powerful processor and, oddly enough, one less sensor.
The smartphone sports a 6.74-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits. For protection, it has Corning Gorilla Glass as well as an unrated splash and dust resistance. Under the hood, the budget device runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage along with a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
On the back on the phone is the 50MP primary camera and a depth sensor, but the macro lens from its 4G variant has been removed. Powering the affordable device is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W charging.
The Redmi 13C 5G ships in three colour options and starts from RM699 for the 4GB+128GB trim, while the 8GB+256GB configuration costs RM999. However, Xiaomi is offering the new phone at RM659 for the base variant if you purchase it online through its Shopee and Lazada stores.
