Luno is expanding its cryptocurrency portfolio with the addition of two new coins, Cosmos (ATOM) and Polkadot (DOT). The two coins brings the total number of digital currencies that it has to 13 coins.
“We are thrilled to be the first regulated DAX to introduce ATOM and DOT to Malaysia. By widening our coin offering, we enable Malaysians to explore and diversify their portfolio in a safe and secure environment,” Scarlett Chai, Country Manager for Luno, said.
As per Luno’s official statement, Cosmos (ATOM) aims to provide a scalable, secure, and interconnected ecosystem for decentralised applications (dApps) and services. With its emphasis on interoperability, scalability, and sovereignty, Cosmos has garnered significant attention from developers, enterprises, and blockchain enthusiasts alike. Meanwhile, Polkadot (DOT) represents a significant advancement in the blockchain space by operating on a unique multi-chain architecture. The platform empowers developers to create customised blockchains, known as parachains, tailored to their specific needs. It unlocks new possibilities for dApps and services, fostering a more interconnected and efficient blockchain ecosystem.
This marks the second round of additions to Luno’s portfolio. Prior to this, the last time the cryptoexchange added new coins was back in 2022, with the addition of Cardano and Solana. Earlier this year, the company also introduced Ethereum staking.
