iQOO has officially launched the mid-range Z9 series in China, launching a total of three models. As expected, the vanilla model has specs that differ from the Indian model we saw last month with the entire lineup sporting Qualcomm chipsets.
The standard model Z9 as well as the higher-end Turbo feature 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED displays with a 144Hz refresh rate and a whopping peak brightness of 4,500 nits. All three phones come with an IP64 dust and water resistance rating but only the two top models get an under-display fingerprint sensor while the more affordable Z9x is fitted with a side-mounted scanner.
The Z9 Turbo runs on the upper mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip with a 6,000mAh battery that supports 80W charging. On the imaging front, it is equipped with a 50MP main camera with OIS along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 16MP selfie shooter.
For the regular Z9, it houses a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 while the Z9x gets a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. Both phones are powered by a 6,000mAh battery with 80W charging for the former and 44W charging for the latter. Photography-wise, the two phones each have a 50MP primary camera and a depth sensor, with the Z9 embedded with a 16MP front snapper while the Z9x only has an 8MP lens.
The starting prices are CNY1,499 (~RM990) for the Z9, CNY1,299 (~RM857) for the Z9x, and CNY1,999 (~RM1,319) for the Turbo variant. iQOO will be launching the series in Malaysia on 9 May, but it is unlikely that the Turbo will be coming here.
