Samsung unveiled its unique Music Frame speakers earlier this year at CES and now, the innovative product has finally made its way to Malaysian shores. The idea behind it is that you can put a proper speaker in your living room without it aggressively standing out from your decor by disguising it with a printed photo or artwork.
The Music Frame is a wireless 18W speaker that doesn’t have a screen but it also pulls double duty as, literally, a photo frame, which you can furnish with any photo of your choice and even swap out the bezels. Despite its flat square design, the brand claims that it pumps out a wide area of sound with a total of six three-way speakers and a waveguide, along with support for Dolby Atmos for 3D surround sound.
For connectivity, the Music Frame supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and is compatible with Google Home, Apple AirPlay, and Chromecast. It can even connect to compatible Samsung TVs and soundbars using its Q-Symphony technology.
Sound tailoring seems to be a big highlight for the speaker, as it can calibrate the sound by analysing the room and it even optimises the audio for each scene on the screen. It also amplifies dialogue when it detects a noisy environment.
The Music Frame is currently available for pre-order on Samsung’s website. It retails at RM1,999 but if you pre-order from now until 2 May, you can get it at a discounted price of RM1,499.
