TIME Internet has recently upgraded the speeds for plans offered under its Pakej MyKabel initiative. Much like the Speed Boost rollout for its existing Home Fibre packages earlier this month, both the 100Mbps and 500Mbps subscriptions under this programme are boosted to 200Mbps and 600Mbps respectively at no additional cost, while the 1Gbps option remains unchanged.
To recap, TIME’s Pakej MyKabel initiative, which was launched last year, aims to assist the government’s Pakej Perpaduan Jalur Lebar Tetap effort by offering accessible broadband services to marginalised communities such as the lower-income bracket (B40), veterans, individuals with disabilities (OKU), and elderly citizens. This initiative is currently offered at 16 PPR & PA buildings in Peninsular Malaysia (shown below), with plans to roll out to more in phases.
As of its recent revision, it now provides those eligible RM30 off x 24 months for the 200Mbps plan, and RM20 off x 24 months for the 500Mbps and 1Gbps plans. These are normally priced at RM99, RM139 and RM199 a month respectively, but those eligible can get these subscriptions at a reduced monthly fee of RM69, RM119 and RM179. TIME notes that these discounts are applicable to 24-month contract plans only.
Initially planned to end on 31 March 2024, the internet service provider has decided to extend this promotion until 31 December 2024 with this recent revision. Eligible users are advised to sign up within the promo period and activate your service within two months of your signup date.
