There are many things to consider when deciding on the right gaming chair for yourself. Cost tends to be the major determining factor, while other aspects such as comfort, ergonomics and features come after. That said, it’s quite rare for a premium product to nail all of these pain points simultaneously.
As you can tell from the title, this review will be focused on TTRacing’s more recent release, the TTRacing Swift X Pro. Is it capable of solving all of the concerns I mentioned earlier? As usual, do stick around to find out.
What Am I Looking At?
The Swift X Pro is an update to the original Swift X that was released by the brand back in 2020. Notable differences include improved ergonomics on its backrest and seat base, new foam padded adjustable armrests, and an updated gas lift mechanism featuring TTRacing’s own SGS-certified Heavy Duty Class 4 hydraulic system.
Like the non-Pro model, it too is available in either PU or fabric upholsteries, with various colour options to choose from. The former is available in Black, Red, Grey, Stealth and Brown, whereas the latter is only offered in Dusk or Dawn. On that note, the unit which I’ve received for this review is the fabric option in the Dusk colourway.
How’s The Set Up?
Of course, as with most gaming chairs and other similar products, the Swift X Pro will require assembly. As you’d expect, the chair itself arrives in several parts, while also included in the box is an instructions manual, multiple screws, and two Alan keys of varying sizes.
Installation is straight forward, and putting things together took over an hour on my, give or take. However, I should point out that I did pause progress momentarily to document the entire process.
I did have trouble getting the screws to align properly when attaching the covers on each side of the Swift X Pro’s backrest. But apart from that slight hiccup, assembling the entire chair was a breeze. There’s even some leftover screws after that, in case you need them.
Is It Any Good?
The TTRacing Swift X Pro is quite comfortable. Its backrest is conforming and ergonomic, its adjustable padded armrests provides sufficient support when idling, gaming or typing, while its wide seat base offers plenty of wiggle room – though not to the extent of XXL or Titan-sized chairs. Further enhancing the experience are the included velour covered memory foam lumbar and headrest pillows.
Despite being composed of multiple parts, the chair itself feels rigid and sturdy in its completed form. This is owed to its internal steel skeleton as well as the strong recliner mechanism, which retains the backrest’s tilt regardless of how much pressure is applied.
Speaking of which, it should also be noted that the chair’s reclining ability is now limited to just 135-degrees, which is slightly less than the 165-degree range offered by its predecessor. Personally, I don’t see this as an issue as I rarely find the need to recline my seat to such extents.
As for the hydraulic system, so far it has been working great. Due to my height and home setup, the chair is set to the highest elevation, and it has been maintaining this for several weeks now without any sign of deterioration.
What’s The Catch?
To be honest, the TTRacing Swift X Pro leaves me with nothing much to gripe on. If I were to nitpick, one particular feature I wish the chair had was the ability to slide the armrests forwards or backwards.
It should also be noted that both the headrest and lumbar pillows lack any magnetic connectivity. Instead, the former uses an elastic strap to attach itself to the chair, while the latter is simply placed on the seat without any form of support. Despite which, both items do stay secured quite well.
That’s about it, really.
Should I Buy It?
If you don’t mind not having the extra features mentioned in the section above, then the TTRacing Swift X Pro is worthy of your consideration. It’s sturdy and comfortable, and comes with most features you’d expect from a premium-tiered gaming chair, but at an attractive price point.
Speaking of which, it is currently retailing at RM799 via the brand’s official website and its online store on Shopee. This is quite a bargain if you’re in the market for a gaming chair of this calibre, as most similar products tend to exceed the RM1K mark.
However, the throne will revert back to its original retail price of RM1,199 outside of this promotion, which is a bummer. TTracing did not say how long this special pricing is expected to last, so it is advisable that you act now if you wish to score the Swift X Pro at a discounted value.
