Samsung will be rolling out a new update for some of its older flagship devices which will include some tools from Galaxy AI. The company will be releasing One UI 6.1, which was made available to 2023 flagships last month, starting in May to high-end devices from 2022 and 2021.
The update will be coming to the Galaxy S22 series, S21 series, Z Fold3, Z Flip3, Z Fold4, Z Flip4, and the Tab S8 series. Notably, not all the features from Galaxy AI will be coming to the older models.
For the eligible 2021 models, which is comprised of the Galaxy S21 series, the Z Fold3, and the Z Flip3, they will only be getting two AI features from the update, namely Google Circle to Search and Magic Rewrite. The former lets you circle anything on the screen to quickly make a Google search of it while the latter is likely similar to Chat Assist, which uses generative AI to help you change the style and tone of messages through the keyboard.
As for the 2022 flagships, they will have access to all the features that were released to the 2023 models, with the exception of Instant Slo-mo. These devices will receive the update in early May, although it could come to devices in South Korea first before rolling out to other markets.
