Samsung has just unveiled its latest Neo QLED and OLED smart TV lineup for 2024 and, in line with its recent string of products, the new TVs are loaded with AI features. Running on Tizen OS, the new tools are powered by the brand’s in-house AI chips and are meant to help its users touch the remote as little as possible.
First up, we have the new Neo QLED 8K TVs made up of the QN900D and the QN800D series. The former is powered by the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor while latter gets the less powerful NQ8 AI Gen2 chip. Both smart appliances have a resolution of 7680×4320 and come in 65, 75, and 85-inch sizes.
When it comes to the picture quality, the Neo QLED is equipped with 8K upscaling, motion enhancer, and depth enhancer, all using AI. There are also smart sound features that automatically amplify dialogue with any content you watch and it adapts the sound settings for the size of your room as well as the content.
The AI can intuitively adjust the brightness of the TV by monitoring both the room and the content itself. Similarly, it automatically adjusts the volume depending on whether or not there are any loud noises in the room such as a vacuum. Even for gaming, Samsung’s new TVs can automatically detect when you’re playing a game and adjusts the picture settings based on the genre.
As for the 2024 Samsung OLED TVs, the lineup offers three different variants with the S85D, S95D, and S90D. They also run on the NQ4 AI Gen2 chip and get improved displays that are 20% brighter than their predecessors and are Pantone-validated. Exclusive to the new series is a “Glare Free” technology which promises low reflection even in daylight. The S85D and S95 come in 55, 65, and 77-inch sizes while the S90 is offered with a range of a 42-inch model all the way to an 83-inch model.
The launch of the 2024 lineup has been promoted by Samsung Malaysia so we can expect the new TVs to make their way here eventually. However, as of now, there is no word on exactly when they will be available or how much they will cost.
