Earlier today, Lenovo announced three new Yoga 9i laptop models at its self-named Lenovo Innovation 24 event in Bangkok, Thailand. These new models include the Yoga Pro 9i, the Book 9i, and the 9i 2-in-1.
The one common denominator between the new Yoga 9i laptops is that they are all powered by the latest Intel Meteor Lake mobile CPU, and each having varying SKUs. Additionally, they run Lenovo’s AI Engine+ NPU, which can be abbreviated to just Lenovo LA, and can be paired with Intel’s AI Boost.
What is new for the Yoga 9i series across the board is that all models are fitted with Lenovo’s Puresight technology, in one form or another. We say this because there are actually two variations of the technology: Puresight Pro and Puresight OLED. Another major upgrade to this generation of Yoga laptops is their speaker systems and more specifically, who Lenovo partnered up with to enhance them: Bowers & Wilkins (B&W).
Now, starting with the Yoga 9i 2-in-1 is – as its name suggests, a laptop convertible that is able to transform between multiple form factors. You have the conventional laptop mode, the tablet mode, and then there’s the “tent” mode, which is also known as multimedia mode. This laptop model, by the way, bears the Puresight OLED 14-inch panel.
To that end, the Yoga 9i’s spine is the laptop’s main speaker and, as mentioned, it’s tuned by B&W. I won’t say too much about it right now, except that at max volume, it is proper loud.
Next on the list of product launches, the Yoga Pro 9i serves as the brand’s professional and creator-centric laptop of the trio, boasting the ability to house up to a Core Ultra 9 CPU, a 16-inch 3.2K Puresight Pro display, and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 discrete GPU. Lenovo claims that it is an “ultra light” laptop starting from 2.02kg but we believe that everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.
Last but not least, the Yoga Book 9i has been given a refresh with Intel Meteor Lake, along with Puresight OLED, the B&W audio upgrade, and Lenovo AI+ engine, among other things. What does remains current is the laptop’s dual 13-ich display and form factor and this time, given its choice of CPU, the brand is boasting up to 24.5 hours battery life.
At the time of writing, Lenovo did not specify local availability or pricing for the new Yoga 9i series.
