Last month, Samsung announced that it will be rolling out its Galaxy AI features, currently only available on the S24 family, to last year’s flagship devices. This means the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, its FE entry, the Z Fold5 and Flip5 will be getting the generative AI tools, as part of the One UI 6.1 update. More recently, the company has announced the rollout of said update is starting very soon.
From the announcement, it looks like the full suite of Galaxy AI is coming to the listed 2023 flagships. Which means that the devices mentioned will be getting Circle to Search, Live Translate, Generative Edit and Chat Assist. Worth mentioning again that the first item in the aforementioned thing is more a Google thing, and therefore is the only feature to not be locked behind a Samsung-made app.
As the company announced before, the One UI 6.1 update, which contains these Galaxy AI features for the aforementioned devices, are scheduled to rollout by late March. With the announcement, the company says that the rollout has a start date of 28 March. Being an announcement for the US market though, timezone differences would mean that it’s actually starting on 29 March locally.
Also worth mentioning is that besides the flagship phones, most of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 family will be getting the Galaxy AI features bundled into the One UI 6.1 update. The one exception to this is the TAB S9 FE.
