As time passes, more and more brands that once used to cater specifically to gamers are now also tapping into the streamer market. Razer, for instance is on its third generation Seiren microphones, and Steelseries has its own Alias line. More recently, ASUS is also adding another of its own into the market, via the ROG Carnyx.
ASUS markets the ROG Carnyx as a “studio-grade gaming microphone” with a 25mm condenser capsule and a 24-bit / 192 kHz sampling rate. There’s also a high-pass filter to reduce low-frequency noise, and a built-in pop filter, something users of gaming headsets will also greatly appreciate. So on the sound transmission end, things look pretty good.
Beyond that, the ASUS ROG Carnyx also comes with a simple metal shock mount with elastic suspension cables, so that rage-induced table slamming is not picked up – or at least minimised. Then there are the simpler features to complete the package, including a touch mute button – paired with an indicator LED – and a multi-function control knob.
To complete the gamer aesthetic, the ASUS ROG Carnyx also comes with RGB lighting. And while you can use it as-is right out of the box, you can also do some tinkering via the Armoury Crate software.
The ASUS ROG Carnyx is available now for a price of RM838. You can get them via the brand’s official stores on both Lazada and Shopee.
