HMD Global may currently be the manufacturer with exclusive rights to make Nokia-branded phones, but that license is set to end in 2026. Of course, that’s not stopping the company from using the Finnish brand’s name before then. And it looks like it may have a modern interpretation of a classic coming in May.
The official HMD Global account on X, formerly Twitter, posted a teaser on 18 March that says “It’s my birthday”. Judging from the look of the pixelated phone, as well as the date, it can be inferred that the company is referring to the Nokia 3210, which was first released back in 1999. The post also comes with text that reads “An icon returns this May”, indicating its announcement window.

If you were not around at the time, then you’re probably more familiar with the Nokia 3310, which got its own modern take back in 2017, albeit still as a feature phone. Millennials, on the other hand, will probably know that everything that made the 3310 great first came from the Nokia 3210. Depending on who you ask, the latter is also arguably the better looking phone.
Of course, there’s no confirmation yet that what is being released in two months’ time will indeed be the Nokia 3210. At any rate, beyond just a release window, a link in the post allows you to register your interest for the device, if you choose to do so.
