Huawei has officially launched three new nova 12 series smartphones for the international market, namely the nova 12s, 12 SE, and 12i. Oddly enough, only the 12i is an entirely new phone whereas the 12s is a rebranded nova 11 with a new back panel and the 12 SE is just a renamed nova 11 SE.
The nova 12i sports a 6.7-inch 1080p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, which only supports 4G, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
For photography, the entry-level phone features a single 108MP camera with a depth sensor next to it, while the front houses an 8MP sensor. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 40W wired charging.
Just like the nova 11, the nova 12s packs a 6.7-inch 1080p OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a Snapdragon 778G 4G processor under the hood with 8GB of RAM. Powering it is a 4,500mAh battery with support for 66W charging and imaging-wise, it carries a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 60MP selfie shooter.
As for the nova 12 SE, the budget device gets a 6.67-inch 1080p OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Inside the chassis lies a Snapdragon 680 chip and a 4,500mAh battery that supports 66W charging. The phone is fitted with a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 32MP front snapper.
Huawei already confirmed that all three devices are coming here soon, but has yet to announce a launch date. While the rebranded nova 11 SE will be making its first appearance in Malaysia, it will be interesting to see if the 12s will offer anything new given that the nova 11 is already being sold here.
