HONOR has introduced the latest addition to the Magic6 family, the Magic6 Ultimate. The phone is largely similar to the Pro model but gets an upgraded camera system as well as a new design on the back. The brand also announced the Porche-inspired Magic6 RSR, which is the same phone as the Ultimate but with its own unique backplate design.
The Magic6 Ultimate sports a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield for protection, a peak HDR brightness of 5,000 nits, and a global peak brightness of 1,800 nits, which is notably brighter than the Pro. Under the chassis, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with a whopping 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
Its new camera system features what the brand calls a “super dynamic eagle eye camera” that utilises a H9800 (Howell OV50K) sensor with a f/1.4-f/2.0 aperture, OIS, and an improved 15EV dynamic range. It also retains the same 50MP ultra-wide lens as well as the 180MP periscope telephoto with 2.5x optical zoom, but it does add a LiDAR sensor for faster autofocus.
Up front, it houses a 50MP front shooter and a 3D depth sensor for face unlocks. Powering everything is a 5,600mAh battery with support for 80W wired and 66W wireless charging.
The Magic6 Ultimate has a starting price of CNY6,999 (~RM4,595) while the RSR costs much more with a price tag of CNY9,999 (~RM6,595) for a 24GB+1TB configuration. As for availability, the Ultimate variant will likely be exclusive to China while the RSR will be launched globally in Q2 2024.
