HONOR has officially launched a new smart band called the Band 9. Skipping the Band 8 entirely, the new wearable is the direct successor to the Band 7, sporting a more refined design but retains most of the specs of its predecessor.
The Band 9 has a larger 1.57-inch rectangular AMOLED display measuring in at 402×256 with a 60Hz refresh rate. Aside from the upsize, the screen is also a lot more curved. It has a water resistance of 5ATM, making it suitable to be worn while swimming, and upgrades its Bluetooth connectivity from 5.0 to 5.3.

It has all the same health and fitness features as the previous model including a blood oxygen sensor, a heart rate monitor, and apps to measure your sleep, stress, and menstruation cycle. There are a total of 96 sports modes to choose from to track your workouts, but it still lacks built-in GPS. As for the battery life, there seems to be no improvement with the brand claiming that the Band 9 can last up to 14 days.
The Band 9 comes in black, purple, and blue strap options and retails in China for CNY249 (~RM163). As of now, the company has not yet announced whether the new smart band will be coming to Malaysia.
