[UPDATE: 19 March 2024 – 10:30am] Samsung has officially unveiled the local pricing for the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 not long after this article was published. According to its press release, retail prices as well as the pre-order bonuses for both devices are exactly as listed by DirectD, whereby the former model is going for RM1,999 and the latter at RM1,699.
The brand adds that the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 will only be available by its Experience Stores, authorised retailers, and its official online stores on its website, Shopee as well as Lazada this Friday on 22 March 2024. Samsung also acknowledged that selected retailers and carriers are already offering both devices early on their respective platforms starting today, meaning that DirectD’s listings are indeed legitimate.

Samsung is set to debut its new Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 smartphones soon on 22 March 2024, but it appears we might not have to wait long for the price reveal. It’s been discovered that local retailer DirectD has already listed both devices on its website ahead of the official launch this Friday, with the option to pre-order also now available.
According to the retailer, the Galaxy A55 is sold at RM1,999 while the A35 5G is priced at RM1,699, with free gifts available to those who purchase either smartphone from now until 30 April 2024. Ordering the A55 will entitle buyers with a unit of Samsung Galaxy Buds FE, an additional one year warranty, a rebate of up to RM300, and 30% purchase discount for selected devices. Meanwhile, opting for the A35 will net you a Samsung Care+ protection plan, an additional one-year warranty, a rebate of up to RM300, and a 30% purchase discount for selected devices.
In case you need it, here’s a recap for the specifications for the two upcoming smartphones from Samsung. Both the Galaxy A55 and A35 boast a 6.6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a 5,000mAh battery capacity and 25W fast charging support. The two are offered with 256GB of storage along with 12GB of RAM for the former model, while the latter gets 8GB. DirectD’s listing seemingly confirms that the Exynos 1480 chipset is featured on the Galaxy A55, whereas the Exynos 1380 is utilised on the Galaxy A35.
In terms of camera specifications, both models feature a triple camera setup, with two of the three cameras being identical. Both phones include a 50MP main camera and a 5MP macro camera. However, the Galaxy A55 boasts a 12MP wide-angle, while the A35 is equipped with an 8MP wide-angle shooter. Their front-facing cameras differ, with the A55 featuring a 32MP shooter and the A35 sporting a 13MP shooter.
Since DirectD has listed both devices ahead of schedule, there’s a slight chance that it might not line up with Samsung’s upcoming announcement. So if you are planning to pre-order the phones through the retailer’s online store before the official launch this Friday, proceed only at your own risk.
