The Microsoft Build: AI Day event was previously scheduled to take place in Southeast Asia between 19 and 21 March, with the event happening in Malaysia on 20 March. The company has since announced the postponement of the event, with no new date provided.
No reason was shared either as to why the Microsoft Build: AI Day event needed to be pushed back to a later date. The company does say that it is “actively working to secure a new date for the event”, for what it’s worth.
As the name suggests, the Microsoft Build: AI Day would likely have seen the company share more about its AI endeavours. Most of these would probably fall under the Copilot umbrella, of which we’ve seen quite a bit of, from features exclusive to beta testers to upcoming plans announced by the company itself. Included in the latter list is Copilot Pro, the subscription version of its generative AI tool.
The Microsoft Build: AI Day event would also have seen company CEO Satya Nadella making an appearance in the country for the first time since taking the post almost a decade ago. Unfortunately, none of that is happening anytime soon. But for what it’s worth, it looks like the digital launch event for the new Surface devices are still on track.
