The Redmi A3 has officially been launched in Malaysia as Xiaomi’s latest entry-level smartphone in the market. It was unveiled just last month, offering a minimal but stylish design and relatively respectable specs at an extremely low price that just about anyone can afford.
To start with, the Redmi A3 sports a large 6.71-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass for protection, and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The budget phone runs on a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset and is offered in a single configuration made up of 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, along with a microSD card slot for expansion.
For photography, it features a big circular camera bump on the back containing an 8MP primary lens and a depth sensor, while the tear-drop notch up front houses a 5MP selfie snapper. Powering it is a battery cell with a 5,000mAh capacity with support for 10W charging using USB-C. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and when it comes to connectivity, it supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and has a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Redmi A3 comes in three colour options, which is fitted with either a glass or faux-leather back depending on the colourway, and retails for only RM429. It can be purchased through Xiaomi’s authorised retailers.
