vivo has officially launched a new entry-level smartphone, the Y03. The phone comes with an extremely affordable price tag and gets a design focused on durability with an IP54 dust and water resistance rating as well as a scratch-resistant rear panel.
The Y03 sports a 6.56-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a flat design, and a tear-drop notch. It runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot for expansion. On the connectivity side, it only supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0, while for software, it uses Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14.
For photography, the phone features a 13MP main camera alongside a QVGA sensor and a 5MP selfie shooter up front. Powering the budget device is a standard 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W wired charging.
The Y03 comes in two colour options, namely black and green. It starts at a shockingly-low price of only IDR1,299,000 (~RM389) for the base 4GB+64GB model and IDR1,499,000 (~RM449) for the higher-spec’d 4GB+128GB version. There is currently no word yet on when it will be available in Malaysia, but it has already been spotted on the SIRIM database, hinting of an imminent local launch.
