vivo subsidiary iQOO has recently launched its latest mid-range smartphone, the iQOO Z9, for the Indian market. It is confirmed sporting a 5G-enabled Dimensity 7200 chipset, a detail that was leaked almost a month ahead of its official unveiling via a spec sheet that was shared on Amazon India.
Apart from that, the new iQOO Z9 is revealed to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 1800 nits peak brightness. It also comes with IP54 water/dust resistance rating, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a dual nano SIM tray with microSD support (up to 1TB), and stereo speakers.
Under its hood is the aforementioned MediaTek chipset, along with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Its battery has a 5,000mAh capacity, which supports 44W fast charging via USB-C. Additionally, the phone features Android 14 via iQOO’s Funtouch OS 14 interface, as well as dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, but no NFC support.
For photography, found on the back of the iQOO Z9 is a dual camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary with OIS and a 2MP depth sensor. In front, housed within the centre-aligned cutout on its display is a 16MP selfie camera.
The iQOO Z9 is priced at INR19,999 (~RM1,131) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration, and INR21,999 (~RM1,244) for the 8GB + 256GB. There’s two colour options: Brushed Green and Graphene Blue. There’s no word on the phone’s availability outside of India at this time.
