Earlier in the year, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg claimed that Apple will be launching the new M3-equipped MacBook Air laptops as well as a few iPad models, namely the new Air and Pro entries. The laptops have since been announced, with the tablets nowhere to be seen. But Gurman says that the tablets are still on their way.
In another entry of the Power On newsletter, Gurman now says to “look for that new hardware around the end of March or in April. He also reiterates that it would be around that time that iPadOS 17.4, the tablet mirror of iOS 17.4, “should be ready to go”.
Nothing new about what to expect from these tablets though. As before, the new iPad Air models will for the first time come in two sizes, mimicking the iPad Pro. Said Pro models will also be adopting OLED screens when the new models come about. These too will be sporting the new M3 chips, but it remains to be seen if the Air models will also have that luxury, or if they will get the M2 instead.
Either way though, it’s probably best to not be holding your breaths for when these iPad Air and Pro models actually get announced. After all, we’re still within the first half of March, and the announcement window is much larger.
