RapidKL operator Prasarana has announced that the peak hours for its rail and bus services will be extended throughout the fasting month of Ramadan. Effective today on 12 March 2024, both modes of public transportation will have higher frequencies, making it easier for those practicing to travel home and so on for iftar or buka puasa.
According to the operator, peak hours for its LRT, MRT and Monorail services will commence earlier from 6:30am until 9:30am in the morning, and from 4pm to 8pm in the evening. Previously, these were set from 7am to 9:30am and 5pm to 7:30pm respectively, giving the former a 30 minute addition and the latter an hour and a half extension.

Peak hour extensions for Rapid’s bus services are applicable in the Klang Valley and Penang only, therefore operations in Kuantan remain unchanged. Much like the rail services, buses will now operate from 6:30am to 9:30am in the morning, and from 4pm to 8pm in the evening.
Meanwhile, Prasarana also announced that PRIDE, its subsidiary company, will be opening mini Ramadan bazaars at three train stations throughout the fasting month. These include the Pasar Seni, Damai and Ampang Park LRT stations which will operate from 3:30pm to 7:30pm. The company also noted existing bazaars located at Sri Rampai, Melati and Gombak LRT stations as additional options for its passengers.
