Maxis today has announced its new 5G Home WiFi plans, which are available in three options and starting from RM69. Each option offers different quotas, speeds, and other benefits. According to the telco, this selection is catered towards customers wanting for a wireless internet solution at home, but without the involvement of wiring, drilling or installation.
The first tier, Maxis 5G Home WiFi 69, is a SIM-only plan that offers 120GB 5G access and quota, along with uncapped speeds. Home WiFi 99, on the other hand, provides unlimited 5G access/quota and up to 100Mbps speeds. Lastly, Home WiFi 139 offers unlimited 5G access/quota and uncapped speeds.
All plans come with 30GB 4G Backup data, while a free 5G router is included together with the RM99 and RM139 options. According to Maxis, the router is capable of supporting up to 30 devices simultaneously, and is also available as an optional add-on with a 24-month contract. Moreover, Data Pass add-ons are offered as well for all three, priced at RM15 for 10GB (4G/5G) data, valid for 30 days.
The telco adds that existing Home WiFi 158 customers are eligible to upgrade to the 5G-based plans. According to the official FAQ page, users are allowed to change to 5G Home WiFi 139 and continue their contract from there, though Maxis also notes that early termination charges may be applicable if there is an active contract. Those interested are able to upgrade their existing plan via the official Maxis mobile app or call 123.
