Rapid KL has announced that there will be a slight price adjustment for its MyCity passes, which will take effect tomorrow, 8 March 2024. Specifically, the one-day MyCity Pass will cost RM6 moving forward, as opposed to the current price of RM5.
As the company explains, part of the reason for the increase in price for the one-day MyCity pass is the expansion of the rail line in the Klang Valley, the opening of the Putrajaya Line last year, and the opening of the Shah Alam LRT Line early next year. That being said, the price of the trhee-day pass remains unchanged, at RM15.
Also mentioned as part of the announcement is that Rapid KL is bringing back the MyCity pass for non-Malaysians. These also come in one-day and three-day choices, with their prices being RM10 and RM25 respectively. These passes can be purchased at customer service counters at LRT, MRT, Monorail, and BRT stops, as well as select bus hubs, or online via the MyRapid PULSE app starting 11 March.
As you may have noticed, it’s worth noting that these MyCity passes now apply to both the rail and bus services in the Klang Valley operated by Rapid KL. This was initially introduced as part of a limited-time promotion last year, which got an indefinite extension due to popular demand. So another explanation to the price hike may be making this a permanent perk.
