The realme 12 has finally been launched as the fourth member of the series, with the vanilla model being the lowest-end and most affordable version. It comes in purple and green colour options and is equipped with a single camera on the back.
Firstly, the realme 12 sports a slightly smaller 6.72-inch 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 950 nits, and uses an LCD panel instead of AMOLED. It runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset with 128GB and up to 8GB of RAM. Additionally, the power button is called a “Dynamic Button” and its function can be customised.
For photography, it is fitted with a 108MP main camera with a 2MP depth sensor alongside it, whereas the display houses an 8MP front snapper. Powering the phone is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 48W charging. As for connectivity, it supports 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, and it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The realme 12 is priced from INR16,999 (~RM970) for the base 6GB+128GB variant and while the higher 8GB+128GB trim goes for INR17,999 (~RM1,028). While the company has already launched the 12 Plus and 12 Pro Plus in Malaysia, there is no word yet on when the vanilla model will be coming here. However, we know that it will arrive here soon given that the phone has already been listed on SIRIM.
