Samsung today has announced that Galaxy AI will be coming to more of its Galaxy branded smart devices later this month. As you may recall, the feature was first introduced earlier in January alongside its Galaxy S24 smartphone series, offering several AI-powered tools such as Live Translation, Note Assist and many more.
As revealed by the brand previously, eligible devices that are set to receive Galaxy AI include last year’s Galaxy S23 series (as well as the Galaxy S23 FE), Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. The feature will be included together with an upcoming One UI 6.1 update that is slated to be rolled out by late March.
However, Samsung notes that not all Galaxy AI features will be ported over to the aforementioned devices. Confirmed features include Live Translate, Interpreter, Note Assist, Browsing Assist and Transcript Assist features, AI-powered photo editing tools such as Generative Edit, Edit Suggestion and Instant Slow-Mo, as well as Google’s Circle To Search.
Keep in mind that a Samsung account as well as an active internet connection are required in order to utilise most of the tools offered. In case you missed it, we previously covered each Galaxy AI feature in our hands-on article which you can read more about by clicking this link.
Meanwhile, the company also revealed today that the new Live Translation and Interpreter tools are now available for Galaxy Buds2 series and Galaxy Buds FE in Malaysia via a firmware update. As with its earlier rollout in India last month, this enables the earbuds to natively support both features, though you’ll still need the Galaxy S24 smartphones (and eventually other supported Galaxy devices) in order to get them to work.
