Bose seems to have quietly listed the new Ultra Open Earbuds in the Malaysian market through its online stores. The open-ear earbuds were introduced back in January and were spotted on the SIRIM database shortly afterwards, although the local version seems to come without the Kith co-branding.
The Ultra Open Earbuds hang on your ears with a flexible joint like cuffs and direct sound into your ear without covering up your hearing so you can be aware of your surroundings while wearing them. As for privacy, the company claims that its OpenAudio technology minimises sound leakage despite the open-ear design.
Regarding battery life, the earbuds boast a play time of up to 7.5 hours on a single charge and an additional 19.5 hours with the charging case. Equipped with Bluetooth 5.3, the Ultra Open Earbuds support spatial audio as well as the ability to connect to two devices at the same time — using spatial audio will only net you about 4.5 hours of usage. On the protection side, the buds come with an IPX4 water resistance rating.
The Ultra Open Earbuds come in black and white colour options and retails for RM1,499. It can be purchased through the brand’s Shopee and Lazada pages.
