It’ll be a while until we get to see what Samsung has in store for its next major Unpacked event that’s expected to happen in summer later this year. However, it’s never too early for leaks, as these tend to appear even months in advance. The latest of such is an alleged first look at the company’s unannounced flagship foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold6, courtesy of reliable tech insider OnLeaks (aka Steve Hemmerstoffer).
Shown in a series of images are 3D renditions of the device, showcasing its design in various angles. At first glance, the supposed Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 may appear similar to its predecessor that was launched last year, but closer inspection reveals a more boxier design than before. The curves on each corner are less pronounced, while the surrounding frame is much flatter this time around.

On the flip side, the boxier design makes the folded version of the Galaxy Z Fold6 appear more uniformed. Besides that, also visible is a triple camera setup that closely resembles the one featured on the phone’s predecessor, while the positions of the volume rocker, lock button and fingerprint sensor combo, as well as the USB-C connector remains unchanged.
In terms of specifications, OnLeaks says the Galaxy Z Fold6 will measure at 153.5 x 132.5 x 6.1 mm when unfolded, which is 1.4mm shorter and 2.6mm wider than last year’s Galaxy Z Fold5. Its cover screen is said to come in at 6.2 inches, while its internal display measures at 7.6 inches.
It is also mentioned that the cover screen will feature 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600nits peak brightness. Apart from that, OnLeak claims that the upcoming Samsung flagship foldable smartphone will feature Android 14 via One UI 6.1.1, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset, Galaxy AI features, and seven years of security updates.
As usual, we advise taking all of the information provided with a healthy dose of scepticism. There’s been plenty of rumours surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6; many of which claiming varying details, including a potential budget-friendly version of the device that’s believed to launch alongside it later this year.
