WhatsApp has announced a new feature that makes searching for specific messages a lot easier. The chat app now lets you search chats by date, allowing you to comb through messages from a specific day in case you can’t remember the keyword you’re looking for.
To search messages by date, go to a contact or group name and then click on the search button. From there, you’ll see an option to search by inputting a specific date, going back to as far as the first message you exchanged with that group or person.
WhatsApp says that this feature is rolling out to Android devices and is already available for iOS, the Mac desktop app, and the web app. As always, you can also search for photos, documents, and links as well with any chat.
Other recent changes made by the platform include the introduction of new text formatting options that let you make bullet and numbered lists. Moreover, chats that have been locked will now be synced across all of your linked devices. And speaking of privacy, there is even a new view once feature for voice messages that lets you leave disappearing voice notes.
