We’ve already gotten leaks for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, with a teaser of the way the device will look. Naturally, when there is one, there will be another, especially where leaks are concerned, so here’s another one: the book-style foldable may be getting an Ultra model similar to the way the Galaxy S line currently does.
WinFuture cites sources who have made such claims, pointing to internal codenames Q6 and Q6A, where the former refers to the base model Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, and the latter for the supposed Ultra model. Of course, the existence of another model doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a higher end model than the usual. On one hand, there are way more reports claiming that if there will indeed be two book-style foldables, the new one would be a budget model. But on the flip side, this has also been shot down by the company itself.
Assuming this additional Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 model will indeed be an Ultra variant though, it’s unclear what exactly would make it deserve the moniker. The obvious guess would be that it will come with a slot for the S-Pen, something that the base model sorely lacks on its own despite being compatible. This may be accompanied by a slightly different design, potentially slimmer to compete with other makers of foldables. Of course, it may be as simple as a bump up for items on the spec sheet.
At any rate, this is ultimately something from the rumour mill to be taken with a pinch of salt. There will probably be more on the way as the next Galaxy Unpacked event gets scheduled for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6.
