Shopee has introduced a new policy regarding returns that will be taking place next month. Starting from 19 March 2024, all products on its platform will be covered under its new Change Of Mind (COM) Return feature, with the exception of products under certain categories.
COM returns refers to when someone wants to return the item they bought for no particular reason other than the fact that they don’t want it anymore. Before this, returns due to a change of mind would only be allowed if the seller agreed to it or if the item is a Mall product eligible for these type of returns.
With this new policy, customers can just select “Change of Mind” as the reason for returning an item. The exceptions to the policy include perishable items like food, digital products such as vouchers and tickets, underwear, baby clothes, cameras, drones, smartphones, computers, health products, and certain household and kitchen appliances. To see all the exempted categories, you can check out the full list here.
In most cases, the platform will cover the return shipping cost for you. The initial shipping fee paid for the order will also be refunded as long as the return is for all products from that order and that the return request is approved. Returns for Mall sellers will be checked by the company itself while returns for non-Mall sellers will go directly to the sellers.
