Earlier in the month, it was announced that the Xiaomi 14 and its Ultra variant would get its international launch over the weekend. And as promised, that was what happened, as part of the MWC 2024 showcase. The latter also got a launch in its local market a couple of days beforehand, while the former had the veil lifted off of it in October last year.
In case you missed that one, the Xiaomi 14 comes with a 6.36-inch LTPO 1,200 x 2,680 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240 touch sampling rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness. Inside, it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and a choice of 256GB or 512GB of storage. The battery is rated at 4,610mAh, supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
One of the key features of the Xiaomi 14 is the triple 50MP camera setup at the back, serving as the main, wide angle and 3.2x zoom telephoto shooters. In front, it has a 32MP secondary camera.
As for the recently announced Xiaomi 14 Ultra, has a slightly larger screen, being a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a higher resolution at 3,200 x 1,440. Other aspects of the display is similar, from the 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate to the 3,000 nits peak brightness. It also shares the same chipset as the base model, but it only has one RAM and storage configuration, at 16GB + 512GB. The 5,000mAh has the same 90W wired charging rate but wireless charging is rated at an impressive 80W.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes with a quad-camera setup, again all of which are of the 50MP variety. In addition to the main and wide-angle shooters, this also has two telephoto cameras at 3.2x and 5x, the latter being a periscope type. In front, it has a familiar 32MP shooter.
Despite the two storage variants, the price of the Xiaomi 14 is only revealed to be starting from EUR999 (~RM5,163). The Ultra model on the other hand, with its one variant, is priced at EUR1,499 (~RM7,746) Local pricing has not yet been revealed, but the company says these will be getting local launches early next month, on 7 March to be exact.
