With the first Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event that saw the launch of the S24 range out of the way, the company is gearing up for the next one featuring foldables. But according to a report, said foldables may have to share the spotlight with another accessory, and specifically a wearable called the Galaxy Ring. It is also claimed that this next event will be happening in July.
Slightly more specifically, Korean news site ETNews reports that the next Galaxy Unpacked event is slated to happen on the second half of July. This lines up with last year’s schedule, that saw Samsung unveil its two foldables on 26 July. No mention of a venue just yet.
As for the Samsung Galaxy Ring itself, the report notes that it comes with the usual suite of health tracking functionality, including a blood pressure sensor and ECG. These feature line up with a patent filing by the brand that was seen back in 2022. Beyond health related uses though, this smart ring is noted to also come with remote control capabilities as well as wireless payments.
What’s interesting to note in this recent report though is that the Samsung Galaxy Ring is still in its “prototype production stage”, with mass productions tarting in the second quarter. Back when the aforementioned patent was first discovered, reports at the time also claim that the company had the smart ring in early development. At any rate though, it will be awhile before we find out if the report is accurate on all counts.
