Samsung has officially announced the availability of Galaxy AI for some of its older flagship devices, as announced last month. The AI-powered features will be rolling out with the upcoming One UI 6.1 update, which will be coming at the end of March.
The update will be released for the Galaxy S23 series, the S23 FE, the Z Fold5, the Z Flip5, and the Tab S9 series — unfortunately, older flagships such as the S22 lineup as well as the new Tab S9 FE series will not be getting Galaxy AI. The features will be free for supported devices until the end of 2025, but it is unclear whether it will be moved to a paid subscription after this period.
Among the features that will be coming with the update include Chat Assist, which can adjust message tones and translate messages in 13 different languages, Live Translate, Interpreter, Generative Edit, and Instant Slow-mo. Of course, the highlight of Galaxy AI is Circle to Search with Google, the tool that allows you to circle something on your screen and quickly make a Google search of it.
A couple of days ago, the brand also announced that it would be bringing Live Translate and Interpreter to the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Buds2, and Buds FE. The update will be rolling out at the end of February, but you’ll need to pair the earbuds with a Galaxy AI-compatible phone in order to use the new features.
