Huawei has finally revealed the availability date for the nova Y72, its latest entry-level smartphone. The company unveiled the phone in January and announced the local pricing last week, but did not disclose when it would be available until now. Coming in a single configuration, the affordable device will go on sale starting tomorrow, 23 February.
To recap, the nova Y72 sports a 6.75-inch 720p LCD display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. It runs on an unspecified chipset which is assumed to be the Kirin 710A and is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone has a single customisable button on the side called the “X button”, which users can map to various apps and actions.
On the photography side, the nova Y72 is equipped with a 50MP primary camera and 2MP macro lens on the back, while the display houses an 8MP front snapper. Powering the budget phone is a massive 6,000mAh battery with support for 22.5W charging.
The nova Y72 comes in green and black colour options and retails for RM899. From 23 February, it will be available at the brand’s retail stores and website, as well as its Shopee and Lazada stores.
