Adobe has announced yet another AI integration into its suite of products, this time specifically for Reader and Acrobat. While still in beta, the new generative conversational engine will becoming for free to certain customers on the two apps, but it will eventually end up as a paid product.
Some of the AI-powered features include an AI Assistant that can provide questions and answers based on the content of a document. There is also a feature where the apps can generate a summary of your documents, offering you an easy rundown without having to read everything.
Moreover, Adobe’s custom attribution engine will generate citations to those answers so that customers can verify them instead of taking the AI at face value. AI Assistant can even consolidate and format information into different forms such as an email, a presentation, a report, and more, and is compatible with several formats including Word, PowerPoint, and meeting transcripts. On top of all this, the company claims that no content from customers will be stored or used to train their proprietary AI without consent.
Adobe says that AI Assistant is available to Acrobat Individual, Pro, and Teams customers, as well as Acrobat Pro trialists, today for free, while the new tools will be coming to Reader in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, though, once the feature is out of beta, it will only be available as an add-on subscription plan.
