There have been quite a number of phones by iQOO, a vivo sub-brand, appearing in the local market in recent times. With that in mind, it’s probably not too outlandish to expect the next one to also make an appearance on our shores. While we don’t know if this one will be available locally yet, we know that there’s an iQOO Z9 in the pipeline.
The revelation comes via its Amazon India page, which also makes a number of claims about the phone. The first is that it will be the “fastest phone in the segment”, and credited to this claim is the fact that it will be running a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset.
One other detail about the iQOO Z9 is that it will also be sporting a Sony IMX882 50MP camera for one of its two cameras at the back. It’s also claimed to be the first to come with the sensor in the segment. That word is doing a lot of heavy lifting, which suggests that it may show up with a price tag that’s close to the preceding model.
Unfortunately, that’s all the details that the page provides regarding the iQOO Z9. There’s also the phrase “coming soon”, but no specifics on an actual launch date. And considering it’s a page on Amazon India, the country will probably see its launch first before other markets.
