Just like CES, MWC is another event where companies show off new products, and Lenovo may have an interesting concept to showcase for the event. It’s been dubbed the “transparent laptop”, and while it’s not completely transparent, there looks to be enough see-through parts on it to make the moniker not a lie.
Windows Report has shared images of what this transparent Lenovo laptop would look like, and at a glance it does look pretty impressive. Most of the top lid is transparent, which also gives the impression that it may be a truly bezel-less screen, minus the thick chin. At the back of this chin though we see a ThinkBook label, which may be the product umbrella this laptop may fall under.
The report claims that the the deck looks “completely transparent” as well, though from the images shared it is anything but. Sure, the top half of it looks to be so, looking like a secondary screen that can project a keyboard like the Yoga Book 9i. But then there’s the patterned lower half which looks a lot like the sort of look a rubberised base of a laptop would have. And then there’s the obviously opaque frame as well, with a couple of ports on the left and cooling vents on the right.
Either way, there’s enough see-through parts that makes you wonder where this transparent Lenovo laptop stores its innards. Beefy components are usually larger in size, so it’s probably a safe bet that this won’t be the laptop of choice for gamers or designers and editors. On the flip side, the fancy transparent material would also lead to higher prices, so it’s probably also not for the average remote worker. The report does not that it runs Windows 11, for what it’s worth.

Also mentioned in the report is a range of refreshes that we would usually expect from laptop makers. These look a lot more likely to hit the market, but we’ll probably give them a proper rundown when Lenovo officially announces them as part of, or ahead of, MWC 2024.
