If you were a fan of the Dead Island series, but did not want to play the new game via the Epic Games Store, then you’ll be glad to know that the title is coming to Steam in two months. Similarly, if you’re not necessarily a fan but are not turning away the offer of a free game, there’s good news for you too. Dead Island: Riptide is currently free on Steam, but only for a few days.
Specifically, the game is free to keep if you claim it before 16 February. This offer is part of the “celebration”, if you’re willing to call it that, of Dead Island 2 ending its Epic Games Store exclusivity soon, as mentioned earlier. As a result, not only is Dead Island: Riptide free, the Definitive Edition of the first game, as well as the Retro Revenge side-scroller, are both available at hefty discounts.
To claim your free copy of Dead Island: Riptide, all you have to do is to sign in to your Steam account, and add it to your library before midnight, 16 February 2024. If you’re interested in buying the other two, their discounts last a little longer. Specifically, they will be discounted until exactly a week from now, 21 February.
If you’re waiting for Dead Island 2 itself to be available, though, it’s obviously a much longer wait. While you can add it to your wishlist now, you can only pay for the game once the calendar hits 22 April.
