Nothing today has officially confirmed the launch date of its upcoming Phone (2a) model. According to the company’s recently shared media alert, the event will take place on 5 March 2024 at 7:30pm local time, which will be streamed live via its official website.
While the device itself has yet to be revealed, the Phone (2a)’s rumoured vertical dual-camera arrangement is strongly implied by the “Fresh Eyes” teaser image (shown above) that’s accompanying the announcement. As you may recall, this particular design has been showcased by numerous leaks of the device that’s been circulating online prior to this, including the most recent one which we’ve reported earlier today.

Design aside, unofficial sources are claiming that Phone (2a) will sport a 120Hz OLED display and has a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, which is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The two cameras on its back are purported to be made up of two 50MP sensors, while it will also come with Android 14 via Nothing OS 2.5 and its unspecified battery allegedly supports 45W fast charging.
The Phone (2a) will definitely debut in Malaysia, seeing that it has already received certification from SIRIM last month. All that’s left now is Nothing to confirm the device’s date of availability and pricing, which could potentially be revealed during or after next month’s launch event.
