Apple may be planning to rework the rear camera arrangement on its next-generation non-Pro iPhone models, according to rumours. Corroborating this is an alleged design schematic and concept renders of the upcoming smartphone provided by tipster @MajinBuOfficial via X (formerly Twitter).
Based on what’s shown, the iPhone 16 will ditch the diagonal camera arrangement and square island for a somewhat traditional vertical layout. This look harkens back to Apple’s older iPhone X, but with a seamless bump inspired by its current-generation models. MajinBuOfficial noted that this arrangement would allow Spatial Video recording on non-Pro models, as the feature requires two cameras running parallel to one another.
iPhone 16 new information (Rumor)
The size of the 16 Pro models, while many other sources are saying that the size has increased, I am seeing that the 16 Pro Max will have no change, at least that is what I am currently seeing. With no accurate measurements, I cannot guarantee,… pic.twitter.com/uUJjMVikK9

Rumours are suggesting that both iPhone 16 variants will retain the same 60Hz refresh rate from before, while the alert slider will be replaced with the new Action Button that was first introduced on last year’s iPhone 15 Pro models. It is also believed that the duo could feature the Apple A18 chipset, along with 8GB RAM and Wi-Fi 6E support.
Meanwhile, the Pro variants of the iPhone 16 are said to more or less retain the iconic arrangement from the last generation. Rumours are also suggesting that both high-end models could include a new button layout, taller displays, and under-display Face ID technology.
Some of my sources told me that the renderings that have been released lately on the iPhone 16 schematics that I have shared are almost 100% identical to the prototypes that are currently being tested by Apple, these will most likely be the final design, even if it can't be had… pic.twitter.com/cast5vpxSK

Additionally, MajinBuOfficial claims that at least two iPhone 16 models will come with upgraded battery capacities, though not by much. The vanilla variant is said to feature a 3,561mAh capacity, while the Pro Max gets a bump to 4,676mAh. Puzzlingly, the Plus model is believed to be equipped with a 4,006mAh capacity, which is a downgrade from its predecessor’s 4,383mAh. Unfortunately, the leakster did not reveal the battery size for the base Pro model.
Based on the information I managed to obtain, the new iPhone 16 will have a 3561 mAh battery, while the 16 plus should have a 4006 mAh battery and the 16 Pro Max, should be equipped with a 4676 mAh battery that is no longer L-shaped due to the redesign of the internal structure… pic.twitter.com/T7VuhQ6Brs

As usual, there’s no way to verify whether any of the leaks are accurate or not, so be sure to take the information provided with a hint of scepticism. Seeing that Apple usually unveils its next-generation iPhones in September, it’ll be a long way to go until an official announcement is made.
