Apple has officially launched three new apps on Windows, namely Apple Music, TV, and Devices. This move is part of the company’s long-ongoing process to replace iTunes on Windows machines in order to reflect how the apps now work on Macs.
Rudy Huyn, the principal architect for the Microsoft Store, announced the launch of the three Apple apps on X, with links to their respective Microsoft Store entry. All the new apps are available to download for those using Windows 10 or later to manage their Apple devices and consume content from the tech giant’s platform.
A huge congratulations to our friends at Apple on the launch of Apple TV, Apple Music, and Apple devices for Windows. Always a pleasure working with you!

Plans for the standalone Apple Music, TV, and Devices apps were actually announced back in October 2022 and they were launched last January in preview capacity, but as of today, the “Preview” label has been removed, marking the apps’ official launch. Additionally, iCloud for Windows got an update that introduces a progress indicator for iCloud syncing, fewer sign-in prompts, and improved sync performance.
While all these apps are meant to take over the role of iTunes on Windows computers, there are still a couple of functions that only exist on the legacy app. Specifically, playing podcasts and audiobooks from Apple on Windows machines can only be done on iTunes and it is unknown if Cupertino is planning on launching standalone apps for these functions.
