Dell has announced what it calls an all-new lineup of “intelligent” headsets for the workplace. These are simply called the Dell Pro headsets, which come in wired and wireless flavours, as well as variants with and without ANC. As you’d expect, the star of the show is the Dell Pro Wireless ANC Headset, with a model number of WL5024, coming with all the bells and whistles.
Of the models with ANC, the company says that the tech is “AI-driven”, using the tech to more accurately distinguish between human voices and surrounding noises, and filtering out the latter. The wireless model specifically also features hybrid ANC for even better noise cancellation across a broader range of sound frequencies.
Similarly, the Dell Pro Wireless ANC Headset also features automatic muting of calls when taken off, which is disabled when it detects that it is being put back on. The wired version, on the other hand, gets a set of in-line controls. Alternatively, you can also just flip the boom mic up away from your face to mute it, the way many gaming headsets do these days.
On battery life the Dell Pro Wireless ANC Headset is rated at 78 hours of listening time with a full charge. The model without ANC though has a much lower battery life, rated at 41 hours.
The Dell Pro Wireless ANC Headset is priced at a pretty hefty RM1,452, while the wired version has a RM640 asking price. As for their counterparts with no ANC, the wired and wireless models have a price tag of RM360 and RM768, respectively. These are already available on the company’s official website, alongside replacement ear cushions if you need them. For those, the extra cushions for the Pro models with ANC are priced at RM91 a pop, while the base models have theirs priced at RM59.
