MSI has seemingly confirmed the official SRP of its upcoming CLAW gaming handheld. As per the official product page, the device will retail from a starting price of US$699.99 (~RM3,310), which is about the same price as the ASUS ROG Ally with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme SoC.
Mind you, that’s the starting SRP for the MSI CLAW and at that price, you get an Intel Core Ultra 5 135H CPU, capable of running at speeds of up to 4.6GHz, Intel ARC integrated graphics, a 512GB PCIe Gen4 SSD, and 16GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM.
Move up the ladder and you’ll get the CLAW model with a Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, which turbos up to 4.8GHz, and will cost you US$749.99 (~RM3,549). The rest of the configurations remain the same, save that you’ll get a marginally beefier ARC GPU.
Sitting at the top of the hill, and for US$799.99 (~RM3,783), you get CLAW with the same Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, but with double the PCIe Gen4 storage capacity at 1TB.
Internal specifications aside, we already know that the MSI CLAW will ship out with Hall Effect joysticks and a 7-inch FHD display. On that last physical feature, The Verge also confirmed that it would be a Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) display that would range between 48Hz and 120Hz. That would make it the second gaming handheld to ship out with that feature, the ROG Ally being the first device to ship out with the feature.
At this time, local pricing and availability for the MSI CLAW is still beyond the horizon but word on the wire is that we could be looking at a February launch.
