Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, or rather the more enhanced Director’s Cut version of it, is now available on iPhone, iPad and Mac. The game was initially announced for Apple devices back at WWDC 2023, alongside other titles such as Resident Evil Village and Assassin’s Creed: Mirage.
Like the two Resident Evil releases prior to this, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is only playable on the Pro versions of Apple’s iPhone 15 series, the 2021 and 2022 iPad Pro models, as well as the 2022 iPad Air. Additionally, Mac and Macbook devices equipped with macOS 13.3 and the first-party chip or later are supported as well.
The game is priced at RM99.90, and is available via the App Store app on iOS, iPadOS and macOS platforms. Coming in at 77GB in size, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut will certainly take a while to download and a Wi-Fi connection is recommended. However, its store listing notes that those on iOS can start playing after downloading approximately 13GB of data, with additional downloads occurring in the background as the game progresses.
Additionally, an iCloud account is required in order to play Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. You can choose to play it offline, but doing so will lock you out from the Social Strand System pseudo co-op experience and certain features. On that note, the game’s store page reveals that crossplay between Apple devices is supported, while its official FAQ says the iOS, iPadOS and macOS versions will share the same server as Steam and Epic Games.
