realme has officially launching its latest mid-range smartphone series made up of the realme 12 Pro and Pro Plus. Debuting in India, the phones are largely the same with the differentiating factors being the chipset used as well as the camera setup.
Both phones sport 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED displays with a peak brightness of 950 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. They run on realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14, come with IP65 dust and water resistance, and are powered by a 5,000mAh cell with support for 67W charging, which is notably slower than the 100W speed of last year’s lineup.
Inside, the realme 12 Pro Plus runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 while the realme 12 Pro is equipped with the lower-end Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. As for connectivity, the two phones support 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2.
When it comes to imaging, the brand’s new offering feature triple-camera setups. The Pro Plus model has a 50MP OIS-enabled primary unit, a 64MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and an 8MP ultra-wide. On the other hand, the standard realme 12 Pro uses a smaller 50MP main sensor, a 32MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and OIS, and an 8MP ultra-wide. Up front, the Pro gets a 16MP selfie shooter while its more expensive sibling offers a 32MP sensor.
The realme 12 Pro starts from INR25,999 (~RM1,480) while the base model of the Pro Plus costs INR29,999 (~RM1,708). There’s no Malaysian launch date yet, but the company has confirmed that the Pro Plus variant will be coming here soon. On the SIRIM database, only the Pro Plus and the upcoming realme 12 Plus have been listed so far.
